1. Write Catchy Titles and optimize Permalinks
By using catchy titles it will attract readers to view your articles, so write a headline to attract there attention as it is the difference to make or break your popularity of the article, so plan it wisely.
Second thing to do is optimize your permalink which I have explained in an earlier article, but basically it’s to use the title within the permalink and not the post number
i.e. http://yeepage.com/ ?p=100
Instead an optimized Permalink will look like this:

lastly by using the slug function in wordpress to replace the title in the permalink you have customized it to be keyword friendly to the search engines.

so you can see i have used just two keywords for the search engines and yet kept the title for my human visitors.
2. Install the Mega tag or Keyword plugins
For this I chose the all in one SEO by uberdose, they made a great WordPress plugin where you can add all the necessary metatags and descriptions required to optimize your site, theres two parts the first is the general information just for your website and the second one is used for individual posts.

3. Install the Google Sitemaps Plugin and Submit to Google
Installing the Google Sitemap Plugin can reduce the time that is taken for google to index your site. Typically it can take weekly or even months for google to index the whole site depending on its size. With a sitemap plugin this amount of time can be reduced to hours. After installing your plugin goto “http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/siteoverview”.
4. Submit your RSS Feed to Other Sites
Submitting your RSS feed to other sites can increase your traffic substantially. Each time your blog’s RSS feed is updated, you can have the other sites download the new feed and index your site.
35 RSS directories to submit your feed gives a good basics to start your submission.
5. Ping Other Sites Automatically when you Update your Blog
A simple and easy way to increase your blog traffic and too let people know of your latest article can be done by using a ping service. When you complete an update the ping service will automatically update the necessary places to include your latest article. For wordpress it is as simple as adding of the ping services which will be stored within wordpress and the ping will be automatically sent out every time you update.
How to increase traffic by Ping updates service lists a long list and how to install them to your WordPress blog
.6. Use “alt” and “title” tags, respectively, on your posts images and links
Using “Alt” tags on your images and “Title” tags not only helps your search engine rankings. It also can help your page be valid HTML (another thing that can help your SE ranking). I suggest describing the link/image and not trying to cram tons of keywords to boost your ranking.
7. Exchange links with other relevant sites
Exchanging links with other sites will always help your rankings tremendously, but trading with the wrong sites can do the opposite. One-Way links are placed much higher in Google than reciprocal links, so free or paid directory links would be even better. Using an exchange network can have adverse effects on your site due to the general quality of sites in them. Basically, a one-way text link on a high PageRank directory is the best route.
8. Post short, interesting posts on your blog daily
You don’t have to write a book everyday to keep your readers coming. In fact, most people like happily read short and simple articles that are straight to the point. By giving readers what they want, you are increasing the probability that they will come back. Choose interesting topics to post on your blog that are relevant to your site’s niche. Doing this will keep readers on your site.

Hi Yeepage, another great post of yours. I just love reading yours and forget to write mine.
Actually I liked no.8. I’m holding back too much trying to gather the words and hesitate to write short posts.
Anyway, i’m still having trouble with setting up the structure and a lot more. If you read my blog you may have noticed it.
I wish I have some friends. :((
