We all spend time working on building our traffic, but how many of us actual work on building our RSS subscribers?
Most likely your answer will be NO.
But all the successful bloggers have one thing in common and that’s huge RSS reader numbers, you don’t have look beyond the likes of Problogger, Dailyblogtips, Andy Beard to see they all have large numbers of followers.
So why we need these RSS Subscribers?
RSS subscribers will generally be your most loyal readers, and by subscribing they are saying that they don’t want miss any of your posts and want to read more, and value your content is beyond a normal blog. So they have now added your blog into there daily routine and will check with every update.
They also fall into the area of people who most likely to follow your suggestion, so whether it’s an affiliate link or just a tip these people will listen and follow your every word.
RSS subscribers are your steady source of traffic
Traffic comes in many types, we have direct traffic, search engines and RSS readers, all this traffic will vary with time and with quality of content. Of all this your RSS subscribers will be the most consistent traffic.
Other benefits of RSS subscribers
As most your readers are probably bloggers themselves these are the people who are most likely to linkback to your blog.
RSS subscribers are most likely to submit or vote for your content with the social media sites. Too be able to hit page one in Digg or to get huge amounts of traffic from Stumbleupon you require large numbers of supporters and who else is better than your loyal readers from RSS.
To summarize, RSS subscribers are so key to our blog because,
