How to improve your Technorati Ranking?
My previous post on Technorati (Click here)it was mentioned that we discuss how to improve your ranking. But first quick recap on what’s Technorati?
Technorati is basically a Google type search engine that looks at blogs only and is updated instantly; the rankings are like Alexa as the lower the number the better your rank.
Today we will discuss more on Technorati Authority and how to improve your Ranking
What’s Technorati Authority?
It’s the number of blogs that actually link to you, therefore my site is currently 19, and hence 19 different sites have linked to me in the last six monthes. So having a good relationship with other blogs will help you to gain a greater Authority.
In fact, “incoming links” has been replaced by the “Authority” number. The higher Authority score, the better Technorati Rank. You will get same Technorati Rank as other blogs if both of you have same Technorati Authority score.
How to approve your rankings quickly?
As mentioned in my first post, Technorati is basically links to other blogs. Therefore that what is required, but what’s the best way to go about it?
Use the D-list which was discussed in an earlier post, sound familiar cause it was in an article regarding Google PageRank. Therefore you can use the list to improve your PageRank and get links back which will boost your Technorati ranking too. Two Bird one stone….But please leave a good post on their blog, nobody likes a poor comment and they may delete it.
Generally be active on other peoples sites, this can be done by leaving posts on their site, many will return favour and view your site and they may if they enjoy your post link back too you. An excellent way is to join communities like MyBlogLog where many people have exposure to each others blogs.
Start a link exchange program on your blog, basically it’s a link to me and I will link too you program. This can be done by clicking on a person fav to Technorati button within there blog and the author will then return the favour back after. Click my Fav button below to be add my blog.

Why we need this High Ranking?
One good example is that many paid to blog sites will pay more for a site with a higher Technorati rating; Sites like PayPerPost, Review Me all take Technorati into consideration when working out the payout for a post. Your ranking can make difference between $5 and $150 for same article.
Conclusion for this article is simple, be active and give as much comments to other peoples blogs to gain the linkback and of course write some quality articles which will allow other bloggers to naturally link to your site too.
From above you can see its quite easy to improve your Technorati Ranking very fast, just by writing good articles to linking to other peoples blogs by spending 10 minutes day commenting on other peoples blogs and improve your ranking no end….
Start the Technorati Ranking going up by licking on my Favorite Button below and I will return by clicking on your site, just leave a message in my comments and with your id in Technorati or your link, example is : http://technorati.com/faves/yeepage?sub=addfavbtn&add=http://www.yeepage.com but please change the URL to yours.
Or write in your blog regarding my site and this post and I will return a link to your blog in my future posts.

What is Technorati?
What is Technorati?
Think of it like Google but they only search in blogs, Google searches for information on blogs and other websites where as Technorati searches for in blogs, approximately 71 million currently.
Probably the biggest thing between Google and Technorati is Google takes a few days to register any information where as Technorati has the information ready in minutes. So Technorati has advantages over Google.
How does Technorati Ranking Work?
Technorati ranks all the blog in the internet, from there they search for all the other blogs that link back to that blog, therefore the more links you can get back to your blog the higher your ranking. You may like to look at the here to see more about ranking but basically it says that I link will be counted for a total of 180 days, so if that site mentions your link again the 180 days will be reset.
Currently my site is ranked 434,156 meaning there are that many people between me and the number 1 blog. Which is currently held by Engadget, an update ranking can be found here. As my blog is quite new that’s to be expected but over the weeks I be looking at reduce that more.
Making sense of link counts
A lot of the time some guy just adds figures with rankings, ratings and all over stuff. Technorati displays four count-related numbers. Here’s what they mean:
• Rank: the number of blogs, plus one, that have more than the same number of blogs linking to them.
• Links: the number of links pointing at this URL in the last 180 days.
• Blogs: the number of distinct blogs pointing at this URL in the last 180 days.
• Total Links: the total number of links found pointing at this blog, ever.

.
For today that enough to start you off on understanding how Technorati works, later I prepare an article on how to improve your ranking…
