Facebook Deletes Secret Crush Application over Spyware Claim

Facebook has removed the Secret Crush application due to its link with a notorious spyware company.

Facebook one of the biggest social networking site confirmed the breakup on Monday: “Facebook is committed to user safety and security and, to that end, its Terms of Service for developers explicitly state that applications should not use adware and spyware,” a statement from the company read. “We have contacted the developers and have disabled the Secret Crush application for violating Facebook Platform Terms of Service.”

It worked by Lonely Facebook users eager to find which of their friends had the hots for them instead only got spyware. Invitations to lure members to download the application with the message “One of your friends might have a crush on you!” originated Zango, a company famous for adware.

Blogging Bumps…

This weekend was a worrying one for myself, I am not by all means an expert with computer’s but all of a sudden on Sunday when I opened Yeepage homepage I was redirected to some search engine. Having a thought of the worse I had assumed that someone had entered my blog and redirected all my readers to their domain.

Alexa Ranking Dropped

Just seen my updated Alexa ranking and was pleased to see that it has crept under 100,000 mark for the first time, when I started paying notice to my Alexa ranking my rank was 493,490 on 3^rd Oct and has gone down to 99,903 on 26^th Dec which is less than 3 months.

You may be thinking big deal and compared too some of the big bloggers it’s not low, but when I set out to blog it was one of my benchmarks I was aiming for and finally I have achieved it.

Today’s the Big Day

I was debating with myself whether I should post another blog tip, site review of even just a money making program. But, then it came across my mind and to be honest how many people will actually spend the time today to read it.

15th Edition of Weekend Links.

This week was a busy one for me, not talking about the mad rush for christmas but my blog had two major events, one being the close of my dreaded 1st contest and the 2nd was the definitive list of Stumbleupon Articles.

Finally my dreaded 1st contest finished after 50 days and 300 comments later, the two winners have been paid and the proof of payment can be found here. So with a little spare time I went to Google and did a little search and was surprised too see that my starting and closing article for the comment contest is ranked one and two. Read more

14th Edition of Weekend Links and a Mini Blog Update

First I like apologize for last week that I missed the Sunday love links, but its the only post I can’t do in advance. I got back late from my diving trip and ended up running out of hours to write the post so I decided to do a double love link today instead. You will find the links at the bottom of this post but first for some general Yeepage blog news.

In my Summary for November post it was mentioned that yeepage.com was having a low in the overall traffic to the site but I am pleased to say I fixed it and have actually improved it from my previous best, which is a pleasing sign and with this improvement in traffic my Alexa hit a one day low of 41,000.
