One Blogging Mistake That I Still Tend to Make

We all should learn from our mistakes, like bringing your children to the toy store to just look around, and you end up buying new toys for them and later you always say never again…
I’ve read on many peoples blogs that consistency is best for posting articles as this trains them to come back daily for the latest update. But as with all people we go though the busy times with work, family and other things and as I don’t like letting down my readers so I am staying up very late to complete my daily article, which at times makes it less fun than it should be.
The problem occurs when I don’t have any drafts saved for rainy days ( and boy its seems to rain everyday here now) so I have tried to dedicate today to catch up and even get ahead for my posts.
Again, I did remember reading on other blogs that posting more than expected is bad too, so I saved them all and published only one. I also realized that rather than storing all ideas for my blog posts in my head, I should type them out and save in Drafts, and that’s what I’m doing from that day on.
The only draw back is that you may find you have ideas in your drafts and not completed posts, so try and complete them and not leave them half completed as going back to them in near future is also not easy and quite time consuming.
So readers spend today focusing on preparing your weeks articles and save them in drafts and learn from my mistake and keep several completed posts ready for that last minute overseas business trip or nay other unforeseen problem.
How many articles do you have in your drafts panel?

I have no drafts in my panel. However I also realize what you are saying. It look like we are making some similar progress here.
You could check out my latest post and see I’m not saving any draft, yet, but I do let my reader know what I am doing.

I do tend to always have a couple of articles in draft, for those rainy days, but unfortunately, my reserves are exhausted at the moment and I am getting nervous
Hopefully, I’ll find enough time and inspiration, in days to come, to fill those reserves again.
Btw, nice article.

Hey, I am doing this more complicated than it should really be:
when i stumble over an idea that is worth writing about in my blog, I’m sending it to my own e-mail and store them in a folder named “Blog”. The bad part is that I never have time to develop this ideas and by the time I am in the mood to develop them I forget most of the things I wanted to write about that.
So, all and all, it’s not a bad thing to start a draft in the blog and write at least half of the post
In time at least you’ll know where to pick-it up from.December 6th, 2007 at 6:26 pm -

I have a weird problem with the drafts folder .. Everytime i get a blog idea ( just a personal blog, so it is usually a rant ) i write up the whole post, with everything ,, the title, labels, pics, video links etc, then finally i just get this feeling that i should not be posting that rant .. So that way there are more than 10 fully completed posts in my drafts folder, chances are that they’ll never see the light of the day ever ..
