Why are RSS feeds important?
RSS feeds shows a blogs quality and authority within their niche and can be used as a valuable reference for when you would like to sell your blog.
Another reason why RSS numbers are valuable is they are very difficult to manipulate compared to other statistics.
Simple Tips
We could all do well to listen to them on how they increase our RSS feeds, heres some tips that i have used to promote and increase my RSS numbers:
1. Promote your feed prominently - Locate your Feed badges at a location that can be seen. Have it on the page before the scroll line that way when the page lods its there to be seen.
2. Give several ways for people to subscribe- give the option for an email or rss feed buttons.
3. Educate readers- tell people what is an RSS feed, you be surprised who does not understand.
4. Create an landing page- add a simple landing page for visitors, here’s mine
5. Ask for subscription at end of each post- put a simple subscribe here sentence.

Nice points, but a better way to do this ( according to me ) is by writing exceptional content. I still remember looking around for around 5 whole mins for the feed subscription link for a site that i loved so much. I made up my mind to find the feed link and start following the blog, i was even prepared to mail the author asking for his feed link ( cos’ it took me around 5-10 mins find it finally, and it was hidden somewhere with no icon ).
So even with all the stress on these points a better way to get subscribers is to just concentrate on writing awesome content ( now, did something suggest this already ?).
