18 ways to increase quality traffic

Like all webmasters and alike, we are all searching for ways to get large amounts of quality traffic. Not by unethical means like spamming people or by spending huge amounts of money to advertise our sites. Today I like to suggest several ways that could help you achieve this:

1. Write articles about your chosen topic. Optimize these posts with your keyword phrases. Submit your articles to free article directories s. But don’t forget to add the resource box at the end of the article with a link back to your site or blog.
2. Make posts in forums and place a banner or link in your signature, please remember to ad valued posts within the forum.
3. Submit your site manually to the major search engines.
4. Any profile pages within your websites, forum or directories have your link to your site or blog, as this will help to attract click thru traffic.
5. Ensure that all of your web sites and blogs have cross links within them that links them together.
6. Place ads in free classified ad web sites.
7. Create a video to demonstrate your product or service and add it to popular websites like Youtube.
8. Get website backlinks, be sure they are quality links from sites that complement your own site and remember to avoid link farms. Try to get a link from a dot gov domain or a dot edu domain. Google ranks these domains higher than others.
9. Leave comments on blogs; look out for sites that use the “do follow” tag as this will help your PageRank.
10. Optimize your web pages or blog for keyword traffic. This will help to rank your site high in search engines.
11. Give away a viral product such as a video or ebook. Encourage other people to give it away as well. Remember to push your site and link within the ebook.
12. Register your site in free directories. Dmoz is free, but difficult to get a listing.Search for directories which specialize within your niche.
13. Provide a RSS feed and encourage visitors to subscribe to your feed.
14. Use Social Bookmarking and Social Networking to promote your site or blog.
15. Create multiple blogs on smaller, free blogging platforms to supplement your main site. Be sure your blogs link to that main website and offer valuable content. Link each one back to your web site or your main blog.
16. Run surveys and contests on your web site. Using these can help to add additional traffic from readers
17. Add a Bookmark feature to your web site or blog.
18. Place Social Networking buttons or links on your web site or add them to the bottom of every blog post.
